Darren aka “Eco-MacGyver” is an innovator in sustainable design and construction. Darren is a world traveler and was a resident of major regions of Europe, India, Asia and Asia Pacific where he was a student and practitioner of various health sciences and traditional lifestyles. He’s an athlete, eco-lifestyle advocate, and adventurer. In 2006, he founded Ecovations Lifestyles Inc to support the use of sustainable building practices and lifestyle choices. In 2008, Darren became the co-host of a television show, Alter Eco on Discovery Communication’s new channel Planet Green. This lifestyle documentary show created and presented by Adrian Grenier centered on living responsibly, including the first LEED Certified re-constructed home in California. Darren has since been involved in various lifestyle and building related shows as a contributing producer and on-camera personality. Darren was raised in a family where design/build was not a concept, but a lifestyle. He uses his years of traveling and living in 20-plus countries to add global perspective to his work. He has been a speaker at Eco Chic New York Fashion Week, Go Green Expo, and a variety of eco-events nationwide.

Construction expert with 20 years management experience in Residential and Commercial applications. Mark is a seasoned craftsman, passionate about quality and dedicated to adding value to Ecovations projects. With countless projects from simple renovations to ground up megastructures under his belt, Mark has the ability to orchestrate a construction team. Although no stranger to paperwork and office time, off the job Mark is an avid outdoorsman, elite Kayaking fisherman and advocate for responsible wildlife management. Mark brings his experience of ecology back to his projects.
LAUREN SELMAN – Director of Production & Communications- [email protected]
Lauren Selman is an environmental consultant and producer with several years of project management, environmental strategy and leadership experience. She has experience working on high-profile talent and events, including the Vancouver Olympics, Golden Globe Awards, Primetime Emmys, BlizzCon, American Idol Finale Party, the ESPYs, Fox Upfronts, FOX Executive Meetings, Teen Choice Awards Party, and Cirque Du Soliel’s “Iris” at the Rosebowl Parade. She is also the founder of Reel Green Media, LLC, an environmental consulting company dedicated to environmental responsibility in the entertainment industry. In 2011, she was nominated as the Los Angeles Business Journal Women Making A Difference Award and the Environmental Media Award in 2009 for the environmental work on Benjamin and Peter Bratt’s “La Mission.”
Selman has been a speaker for the United Nations Association, the National Alliance of Hazardous Waste Managers, The Association of Film Commissioners International, UCLA and other educational institutions. Lauren received simultaneous honors degrees from the University of California Berkeley in Conservation Resource Management and in Theater Performance Studies.
Lauren is an avid athlete and adventurer so you’ll either find her running trails, scuba diving, dancing or on the next plane to a far off land.
HOWARD WILLIAMS – Project & Business Manager – [email protected]
Howard “HC” Williams is a LEED accredited professional and a junior architect. He has extensive experience working as a project manager for high-end residential building projects and working as a designer on a number of Los Angeles projects. Beyond architecture, Howard has his own furniture line, recLAimed where each piece is saved from going to the landfill and given new purpose and a second life. This passion for finding new smart solutions and answers to problems is part of what he loves about design. Howard received his Bachelors of Arts in Architectural and a minor in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a two time national collegiate rowing champion and stays active in Los Angeles running, rollerblading and dancing.
